Founding Executive Director

Mr.Kathir@Vincent Raj has been working in the field of human rights for over 18 years. A Dalit himself, his witnessing and experiencing caste based discrimination from his childhood triggered his determination to fight against the caste system and caste based atrocities against Dalits. From an initial career as a writer on the experiences of the socially marginalized, he later shifted to rights based interventions, especially human rights monitoring and legal and advocacy interventions. This work experience and a commitment to Dalit rights eventually led him to initiate an independent organization, Evidence in 2005 to fight against caste discrimination and for social justice and equality.


Program Director

Ms R. Thilagam joined Evidence in 2006, bringing in her expertise as a human rights activist for 17 years specializing in human rights monitoring at the state and national levels. Aside from her role as overall in-charge of the program unit in Evidence, she is part of the team evolving mechanisms for planning, monitoring and evaluation of programs. She further participates in the research Evidence undertakes and has coordinated at the state level collaborative research on Dalit women's rights to political participation.


Administrator cum Counselor

Ms G.Andal joined Evidence as Administrator cum Counselor in 2009. She is a professional social worker and general psychologist with extensive experience in the field of counseling and rehabilitating victims of torture and women in distress situations. She has over 31 years of working experience with several NGOs, corporations and government projects holding different positions in the field of counseling and rehabilitation. Ms.Andal is responsible for the overall administration of the organization and the programs of EVIDENCE. She also works as the counselor and coordinates the relief and rehabilitation program for the victims/survivors of human rights violations.


Complaint Handling Associate

Mr.N.S.Viswanathan joined Evidence as a complaint handling associate, involves in drafting complaints and petitions on atrocities to be preferred before state redress mechanisms. Prior to this work, he served for 36 years as an administrative clerk in the Chief Judicial Magistrates Court, Madurai.


Human Rights Researcher

Ms .T. Alagurani joined Evidence as a human rights researcher for the Women Witness program. She brings with her several years of work experience with NGOs and experience as an elected village panchayat ward councilor in Dindigul district for the period 2006-2014.

K.Rani Meenakshi

Human Rights Researcher

Ms.K.Rani Meenakshi joined Evidence as a human right researcher for the Women Witness program. Her area of specialization is media monitoring and she regularly updates the team with current issues, news reports and information on human rights.


Solidarity Initiative Coordinator

Mr.S.Karthik is a human rights researcher in Evidence. After gaining work experience he has become Solidarity Initiative Coordinator at present. In this role, he is responsible for networking with various people’s movements, NGOs and government officials. He also acts media liaison for Evidence.


Human Rights Researcher

Mr.S.Muthu is a human rights researcher in Evidence on completion of his Masters degree in social work. He is good in establishing the facts of an incident and compiles the necessary documentary evidence.


Computer Associate

Mr.V.Ilayaraja joined Evidence as a computer associate, being proficient in both Tamil and English. He maintains Evidence databases, and assists in graphic design and presentations.

Part - Time Human Researcher

Mr.R.Kennadi joined Evidence as a part-time human rights researcher . He has been a committed grassroots activist taking up various human rights and Dalit rights issues individually and on behalf of Evidence in his district for a number of years.
